The Harte Research Institute (HRI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for the position of Endowed Chair for Economics.

HRI is a marine research institute emphasizing interdisciplinary research and stakeholder engagement. We seek an economist with a distinguished record of research relevant to issues facing coastal and marine environments, economies, and communities to serve as the Endowed Chair for Economics, or such title commensurate with experience. Candidates at any career stage are welcome to apply.

Candidates should have a strong record of conducting research and stakeholder engagement supporting policy or management recommendations. The successful candidate will have a nationally recognized research program on issues relevant to the greater Gulf area. This includes a history of publications in peer-reviewed journals. The ideal candidate will show the ability to obtain and manage grants. We are particularly interested in candidates who can collaborate with other HRI experts on a broad scope of projects. As HRI has programs in Cuba and Mexico, international experience is valued. Mentoring graduate students and early career professionals is important to our mission and is encouraged. The position is tenure-eligible for candidates with strong academic backgrounds who desire tenure.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in Economics or related field

• A record of achievement in scholarship

• An established program in the field of Economics with ongoing applied and basic research that is relevant to issues in the Gulf

• Experience in grant management

The Institute for Governance and Civics (IGC) along with the Department of Economics at Florida State University invite applications for a position at the tenured associate or full professor rank. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenured position in the Department of Economics with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025. Salary is competitive.

We seek outstanding candidates who research how economic, political, and legal institutions have influenced economic development, and whose work speaks to economic liberty and the political economy of a free society. Candidates who possess experience with public-facing civic/economic initiatives are desired.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues. Duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels and service responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in IGC programming.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· A Ph.D. in Economics or equivalent terminal degree at the time of appointment;

· A clear record of research activity equivalent to an associate professor or full professor (depending on rank being sought) at an R1 research university;

· An established record of successful teaching at the university level, commensurate with the rank being sought, and a demonstrated ability to teach and participate in the Department’s undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs.

Your position
The Department of Economics, jointly with Tilburg Sustainability Center, has a vacancy for a 48 months Postdoctoral Researcher in Economics.

We are looking for an environmental economist with strong analytical and quantitative skills, programming experience in either R or python, and motivated to combine rigorous research with social impact. The researcher will develop and analyze economic models for the transition towards a circular economy. It integrates concepts such as circular life cycle assessments, material flow analyses, product as a service, into economic macro general equilibrium models, analyzing distributional effects on income, employment, and resource use across global value chains. We expect publications in top field journals, both in economics and interdisciplinary.

The position is rooted in the NWO funded ACT! project (Accelerating the Circular Transition). It aims at overcoming societal and scientific challenges for the transformation towards a circular society to tackle the existing sustainability challenges. The project develops a toolbox to study this systemic change – providing insights on policies that accelerate the transition towards a circular society.

The new researcher will be supervised by prof. Reyer Gerlagh and is hosted at the Economics department, which offers a large environmental economists group, including Prof. Sjak Smulders, Prof. Daan van Soest, Prof. Herman Vollebergh, and many junior researchers including Dr Julie Metta and Dr Etienne Lorang. The project will also include cooperations with other consortium members, in particular Leiden University, Utrecht University, and the Dutch Environmental Agency, PBL.

The job can include a teaching task and/or thesis supervision, which will be consistent with the role of Postdoc. Preferences for teaching are discussed at the interview and can be part of a balanced job offer.

Title: College Research Assistant Professor, Commercial Agriculture and Production Economics. College research faculty hold non-tenure track faculty appointments.

Principle Duties: The Center for Commercial Agriculture and Purdue University has a long history of strength in the area of farm management and production economics. To help maintain this competitive advantage, the Center is seeking a self-directed candidate to develop an internationally recognized program of scholarly research and outreach in farm management and production economics. The person filling this position will be expected to develop a highly visible applied research-based program including acquisition of external funding and development of innovative educational delivery to key stakeholders. Responsibilities include working with the Center’s advisory council, providing leadership to key Center and Department programs, working with other faculty and staff to deliver high quality research-based outreach programs, and supervising graduate students.

Qualifications: The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. in agricultural economics or a closely related field. Demonstrated interest in the economics and management of crop and livestock farms is critical, as well as demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary work. The position requires a strong ability to communicate orally and in writing. Additionally, the person must be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and college, and with industry clientele.

Position Description

The Department of Health Care Policy (HCP) at Harvard Medical School is a multidisciplinary research department that brings together faculty from economics, medicine, sociology, statistics, and health policy and health services research, creating a dynamic environment for synergy and innovation. Through this cross-disciplinary approach, HCP faculty pioneer the discovery and dissemination of knowledge and mentor the next generation of leaders in health policy research.

HCP is seeking candidates for a faculty position in economics or a related field at the level of full professor with tenure. The candidate will be a thought leader in health economics, a collaborator within the department and across the university, a mentor to junior faculty, and a teacher and advisor to graduate students and postdoctoral trainees. The candidate’s research portfolio should demonstrate successful scholarship in innovative economic methods and their application to health policy and related areas. Research areas of interest may include, but are not limited to, health insurance, health care delivery, alternative payment models, entitlement programs, population health and health disparities, pharmaceuticals and innovation, or econometric methods.

Applicants should have a record of 1) publishing on topics relevant to health policy research, 2) securing external research grant funding, and 3) mentoring students.

We are specifically looking for candidates in Real Estate/Urban Economics. The ideal candidate would have quantitative empirical skills, possibly including data analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.

Proficiency in English is required for this position.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching courses in business economics within our Undergraduate and Masters programs. In addition to teaching, faculty responsibilities include:

• publishing in top-tier economics and business journals;

• take advantage of external research funding opportunities and;

• contribute to academic service commensurate with the level of appointment.

Our department members specialize in International Economics and Real Estate/Urban Economics. The successful candidate will have research interests that align well with the research interests of our faculty members.
